Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is hoping the floodgates have opened after Rickie Lambert's penalty brace at the weekend. Lambert crashed in 36 goals for Saints last term but has struggled for fitness this season. However, his double from the spot in Saturday's 2-0 win over Bournemouth took his tally to four and Adkins has backed him to stay on the goal trail. "It can be challenging to reproduce the amount of goals he's scored previously but it's fair to say Rickie's got to keep working on his fitness and we are working on him with that," said Adkins. "He's got a great attitude and as the season progresses he's going to get strong and he's hopefully going to score more goals."
