The Saints striker lasted just over 20 minutes of the game at Old Trafford on Saturday and is likely to be out of first team action for about a fortnight.

"He had a scan to check the injury had healed," Saints boss Steve Wigley told the clubs official website.

"We felt he would be okay so it was a blow when he had to go off. We are hoping he will not be out too long. A week or two but no longer."
