Southampton striker Lee Barnard cannot wait to get started ahead of Saturday's season opener against south-coast rivals Plymouth. Title-favourites Saints will kick off the new League One programme as their clash against Peter Reid's relegated Argyle is being televised at noon. "It's going to be a good game," said Barnard. "It's on the TV, we're at home and the fans are going to be buzzing so it's going to be nice to play in front of the home fans and getting used to that pitch again. "They've just come down from the Championship and will be looking to bounce back with a new manager so it has all the ingredients of a good game."
