Gordon Strachan has supported Wayne Bridge as a capable player for England's left back position. Wayne has been ever present in the Saints side over the last two seasons. He is also clearly the best left back in the country at the moment and full international recognition cannot be far off. Some even consider the local lad to be a dark horse for the World Cup squad.
Strachan said: "Bridge has got good potential and we can talk about England.
"Playing international football you come up against a better standard of player and that can only be a good thing.
"Wayne is certainly good enough to go on and play at a much higher level but it is up to him now. We will help him all we can but he has to want to go on to better things."
