"This is my eighth season at Southampton which is a long time in football but I have enjoyed every minute of it and I would like to finish my playing days at Southampton," he told the Saints official website.
"I think I have made clear all along that I wanted to stay here. My family are settled here and Southampton is more or less like home to me now."
