Saints record signing striker, Agustin Delgado has intimated that he wants to leave Southampton having only played two games and not even allowing the club to cash in on him and fellow teammate Kleber Chala from the World Cup. Although injuries to other strikers such as Ormerod and Beattie have opened up spaces in recent games, Agustin has been suffering from a knee injury and has only just returned to fitness for the reserves. Delgado's knee was an issue before he even signed for the club with contradictory tales coming from both sides concerning his fitness when he signed. Agustin's first six week's in the city were spent recovering from that knee injury, which is still painful to him, and trying to learn English. His language problems have also restricted his appearances with Gordon Strachan saying that it is impossible to let the player know tactical decisions during play. Delgado has said: "One knows when they do not want you and it is not good to be in a place where one is not respected."
Whether he's referring to cheeky Gordie's sense of humour or whether he just feels a bit miffed at not being allowed home to see his own specialist doctor is unknown.
Delgado is talented, there's no doubt about that, but whether he has the attitude to force his way into the team of a manager that didn't buy him remains to be seen.
