Delgardo to undergo surgery

Delgardo will have surgery on the troublesome disc in his homeland, Ecuador, this week and will return to St. Mary's in about three weeks if fit to travel.

"We have a rehab programme drawn up and then we expect him to be running in about six weeks after surgery," physio Jim Joyce told the club's official website.

"If all goes well, hopefully he will be back in action in around three months."
