Doherty Rumours Dismissed

Media reports had been suggesting that Paul Sturrock was interested in the Robins skipper but Lansdown has denied that there has been any interest shown by The Saints boss.

"As far as I am concerned, we have had no approach from Southampton and we're not waiting for one," he said.

"Having negotiated a new three-year contract with him only last summer, I take it that Tommy has a long-term future with Bristol City FC."
