Hoddle's Wolves first up for Saints

With three former Saints managers in the Championship, it was inevitable our first Championship fixture would be against one of them and a Hoddle return to St. Mary’s certainly adds some spice to our first taste of life in the Championship.

Hoddle remains a divisive figure on the south coast with his bitter departure to Spurs overshadowing much of the good work he did for us. The Wolves game is followed by a trip to newly promoted Luton, and then to Sheffield Wednesday to renew acquaintances with yet another former Saint, Paul Sturrock, who will be keen for his side to do well after the manner of his departure.
