To celebrate his playing career with the Saints and to show just how much he means to all Southampton fans, Javier Igeño Cano from the Spanish Saints is putting together a tribute CD-ROM.
The CD-ROM will be packed full of Le Tissier information, bios, pictures, clips, personal testimonials from the fans and much, much more.
Javier is actively looking to Saints fans to help out with this fantastic project. So if you have anything at all concerning Matthew Le Tissier, be it a letter, an image, or just to leave your thoughts on what he meant to you, make sure you visit http://www.geocities.com/spanishsaints/ . The site also contains previews of the finished sections so you can go and have a look and see what's new.
I asked Javier to tell me more about what will be in the CD-ROM and why he came up with the project:-
"When we stood up to pay tribute to Matt at St Marys on May 14th, with "My Way" playing, we stared at the screen and Matt on the pitch, and memories came back to us. I knew then that I had to pay my tribute to him some way for all he gave me in person and in football for so long.

It was the end, thebeginning without a star, legend and hero who saves the club whenever we are in need, creates magic and makes us stronger. The end of the loyalty in the club. It was my last minute watching him play on a pitch, and I could not
keep my tears during that never ending end and I wanted to keep all the memories in one so that I might remember him as it was only yesterday when he scored his last goal.

The CDROM would be great as there is not a Tribute video at the moment. But also with the help from the fans, I could
concentrate more memories from them with Matt so that the project turns into a tribute from fans to Matt. In addition it may be sent all around the world keeping the legend alive forever.

It is more than a statue or a naming a stand. It is Matt's life, fans' memories, the magic goals, the thrilling season ends,
the Matt & Elekund's connection, Matt's debut for England, our Matt, our club.

It is more than a video tape. It is all what the fans want to give to remember their hero. And now it is not my own tribute, it is our tribute, from webmasters, supporters clubs and fans all around the world. The technology can join us again and those who were not there live at the testimonial game will be able to live it some way on the CDROM.
And if it the CDROM conveys the feelings we shared at the testimonial at St. Mary's, I will feel happy to have lead the project in the way I have.
Let's take part and say thanks to Matt all together name by name, fan by fan... Begin with your thanks, and continue with your stuff such as a photo with Matt, a home video, some signature on some special item, some experience to tell, software made by you, goals from the last 5 or 6 seasons, your memories, your suggestions...
I look forward to them with great enthusiasm!
Let's do it our way!
