McGoldrick signs 4-year-deal with Forest

David McGoldrick has completed his move from Southampton to Nottingham Forest. Southampton have cashed in what is believed to be a seven figure sum for the forward. The 21-year-old, who bagged 12 goals for Saints last season signs for Forest on a four-year deal and becomes Forest boss Billy Davies second signing of the summer.
With the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of Southampton FC and the Pinnacle consortium McGoldrick was desperate to play in the Championship. It is also thought that McGoldrick's choice had much also to do with his family connections at Forest as well.
Saints coach Wotte admits he was powerless to keep David and the club & manager wished him well through the remainder of his football career. This certainly begs the question on who will come to Southampton, with the club in dire straits and playing unattractive League One football, whom would want to play? The biggest draw factors for getting in the calibre players for instant promotion would be playing in a luxury stadium and playing for a well established manager or liked figure. With the pending takeover D-DAY on Tuesday (or what the papers would have us believe) it certainly isn't the last hump back in this takeover rollercoaster!
