"But there is now a big gulf between the Premiership and the lower divisions in terms of profile, publicity, finance and standard and a lot of people have advised me not to leave the Premier League because it is a long way back.
"I like it here and this would be a very difficult club to leave. This chance has been a long time coming but now it is up to me to show what I can do.
It is one thing playing for the Reserves but the manager needs to see me on the real stage. Hopefully I can get a new contract and put myself in the manager's mind for the start of next season.
"It is very frustrating sitting on the bench but when you look at some of the other substitute keepers in the Premiership I am in good company. That gives me some comfort.
"But I have plenty of confidence in my own ability to do the job and now I have the chance to show what I can do."
Jones can't go on for more than another two seasons at best, so Moss may well wish to bide his time, do well when called upon, and claim the number one jersey for his own. It's a risky strategy and I'm sure he would rather oust Jones form the number one shirt form merit rather than Jones leaving the club.
