One of our main focuses here at OTC is to keep up to date with your thoughts and general statistics (yes I know it's likely the Pompey fans may distort the polls, but had it been the other way we'd have done the same) regarding club events and politics.
Southampton, Portsmouth and Newcastle. 3 clubs current/if not likely in takeover scenario's. All of which have been covered by the mainstream media, many of which using the chance to destroy clubs reputations, but which takeover will be more embarassing?
Southampton - Embroiled in administration talks and a spear headed proposed take over by Matt Le Tissier. From one week, working on Soccer Saturday to the next possibly chairman of Southampton Football Club. The demise of the Saints has been a tough pill to swallow, but a pill fans would rather swallow red than blue (truth)
Portsmouth - Apparantly Portsmouth are on verge of a takeover deal from the dubai's very own apprentice star Suliman-Al-Fahim, the bearing difference between Al-Fahim and Sugar? Well, he certainly isn't Jewish. Portsmouth have become victims of a secretive club business policy thanks to Peter Storrie and this stems news hacks to make up stories of no credibility. The Sun's smear campaign on Portsmouth FC is still continuing (much to the light relief of Saints fans) but it wont last.
Newcastle - Mike Ashley is possibly one of the most hated Chairman in football history, even more so than Rupert Lowe. If i was Ashley i certainly wouldn't be in the Tyne right now. The downfall of Newcastle is one of spectacular proportions and no brief history is required to know exactly what happened.
Verdict: Newcastle
Regardless of what happens here, the Tyneside punch & judy show continues. Combine it with some Geordies inability to come to terms with their club doesn't have a god given Premiership right and a chairman who needs to lay off the pies, the Newcastle take over has the recipe of major drama's and fisticuff's...watch this space!
