"The support has been brilliant and especially as they've not seen a league win yet," he told the Daily Echo.
"They've seen some good performances and some good play at times.
"We've looked a bit direct at times but I want them to come along.
"They were great for me last week at Charlton and I'd like to thank them personally for that because it was a tough afternoon for me.
"The most important thing for us as we need the win so much is they don't make us nervous tomorrow.
"I'd stress to them to try and hold back when we make mistakes and give us some vocal support.
"We will be a bit nervous tomorrow to get this win but the boys are in good spirits, desperate to win, they've worked really hard - so we're looking forward to it."
