Petrescu on Bridge

Dan Petrescu is the latest player to back Saints left back Wayne Bridge for a place in this summer's World Cup. Dan said: "As soon as I saw Wayne Bridge play I told him that he would go on and play for England at some point in his career.

"I think he will go to the World Cup and if I was Sven Goran Eriksson I would start him straight away instead of Ashley Cole.

"Wayne is a very consistent player and he stays reasonably free of injury. He has been a big bonus for Southampton this season."
