Southampton's chances of automatic promotion are very much alive following Tuesday's 2-0 win over Charlton, according to defender Ryan Dickson.Saints lie two points off an automatic promotion spot with two games in hand over second-placed Huddersfield.
Dickson, 24, told BBC Radio Solent: "It's in our hands now, we're getting the results needed and closing the gap.
"We all want to get promoted so we're going to take it game-by-game and hopefully win those games."
Having made just nine league starts this season Dickson was named in the starting line-up for the first time since January in Tuesday's win against Charlton.
But the ex-Brentford defender insists he understands the position at the club.
"As all the starting 11 are fit, you have to bide your time," he said.
"It's a team game, we're all pushing in the right direction and want to get promoted so as long as we're getting the results, I can't really argue about it.
"I've just got to be able to make that impact when called upon."
