Redknapp Gives Credit To Birmingham

The home side completely outplayed the Saints in the opening forty-five minutes and sailed into a 2-0 lead but the Saints looked a different side with the introduction of Henri Camara after the break and having quickly reduced the deficit could well have snatched a much needed away point.

"I took a chance playing a different style which didn't come off in the first half," Redknapp said after the game.

"In the first half Birmingham battered us and played very well but we came back strongly in the second half.

"Camara's goal was fantastic. It was out of the top drawer. I hope that he has a few more in his bag because we are going to need them.

"We played much better in the second half but this has happened before this season at Liverpool and Newcastle.

"I have three players, Nigel Quashie, Kevin Phillips and Graeme Le Saux coming back and they will be a big boost.

"But we desperately need an away win from somewhere if we're to get out of the bottom three."
