Saints Deny Beattie Bid

The club issued a statement on their official club website to deny reports in the Sunday Press that Sir Bobby Robsons side had made a £6million bid for the England international centre-forward.

"It is hardly worth dignifying the story with a response. We have had absolutely no interest from anywhere for James," the statement reads.


"If and when there is then we will deal with it but our players are not for sale. We are not a selling club."
