Southampton mauled Ipswich Town 5-2 at Portman Road to maintain their 100% start to the season and go top of the Championship.
Neil Adkins' men raced into a two-goal lead at Portman Road thanks to a Rickie Lambert brace, before David Connolly made it 3-0 at half time.Ipswich launched a fight-back thanks to Keith Andrews, before Jay Emmanuel-Thomas made it 3-2 on 61 minutes.However the Saints responded well and sealed the points thanks to an Adam Lallana brace.
Middlesbrough continued their unbeaten start and move up to second spot thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win at struggling Barnsley.Keith Hill's side got their first goal of the campaign when Boro defender Stephen McManus put through his own net after just four minutes.However, Boro responded with two goals in three minutes from Scott McDonald and Barry Robson to go 2-1 up inside 13 minutes, before Marvin Emnes sealed the win before half time with his sixth goal in three games in all competitions.
West Ham are on a roll after picking up their second win in the space of a couple of days after thrashing Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road with the goals coming from James Tomkins, Joey O'Brien, Carlton Cole and Scott Parker.Crystal Palace grabbed two injury time goals from Sean Scannell and Jermaine Easter to come from behind and defeat a pointless Coventry City at Selhurst Park, who looked set for the win thanks to Lukas Jutkiewicz's goal just after the interval.
Steve McClaren picked up his first win as Nottingham Forest manager with Chris Gunter scoring the only goal of the game at Doncaster, who are without a point from their three games.Leeds secured their first win of the season in style with a 4-1 win against Yorkshire rivals Hull City at Elland Road.Ross McCormack fired them ahead on 17 minutes, before young defender Tom Lees' own goal got the Tigers back on level terms four minutes later.However Lees made amends to put the Whites ahead before the interval, before Rob Snodgrass made it 3-1 just after the break and Ramon Nunez sealed the points on 68 minutes.In the other Championship game Portsmouth secured their first win of the season as they defeated Reading at Fratton Park thanks to Dave Kitson's goal.
