The rumour mill has now stepped up a gear on Beattie's departure, now that Saints have signed Peter Crouch. Rather than assume that Crouch has been brought in to provide his own qualities and to give Sturrock more than one centre forward option, the hacks seem convinced that Beattie's on his way for around £6 million, with Crouch as his replacement. Beattie's agent Jon Smith said: "There's absolutely nothing happening." | ||
