Extended player ratings: Coventry 1 Saints 1

Starting line-up

Kelvin Davis - 7: Made some good saves when called upon and his distribution was better than previously this season. He almost let Best in with a fumble but it was only a minor blemish on a good afternoon's work.

Jermaine Wright - 5: Clearly out of position and simply not a full-back Jermaine didn't have the best of games, but given our injuries there aren't many alternatives. Was done for pace to allow Mckenzie to put in the initial cross that led to the goal.

Rudi Skacel - 6: Another out of position player, I am not a fan of Rudi at left back. He did get stuck in at times and looked to get forward in the second half but is not quick enough in my opinion.

Andrew Davies - 8: Another excellent performance, he read the game well and was good in the air. Very committed to do everything to defend, he made a very good flying second half clearance. We need to keep him come January.

Alan Bennett - 8: A towering game from the centre half who looks like is forging a good partnership with Davies at the back. Having played together for a few games now it is essential we extend his loan until the end of the season.

Adam Hammill - 6: He struggled to make an impact as Coventry rightly identified him as a big threat following his performance against Hull. Was fouled badly twice in the game, the second seeing his afternoon come to a premature end.

Andrew Surman - 7: He had a decent game, but needed to push wider at times especially in the first half when we were looking very narrow. Some good runs and passing, in particular the ball that put Bradley-Wright Phillips through on goal. He was unlucky with a shot from eighteen yards late-on.

Jason Euell - 7: What has impressed me most about Euell is his fight and determination in midfield, but at times the quality was lacking. He looked to be tiring during the second half but for me Hammill's injury meant he had to last the game. Put in an excellent cross for the equaliser.

Bradley Wright-Phillips - 5: Took his header well, but apart from that very poor. He got into some good positions but couldn't make anything of them. Despite his goal one of the Poles deserves a runout in his place.

Stern John - 6:
A workman-like front man performance, he put a lot in but got little out. He held the ball off and layed it off well as he has when I've seen him this season. I can't fully coment on his offside goal until I have seen a replay.

Substitutes

Viafara - 6 (on for Hammill 68): Jhon didn't make much of an impact as winger isn't his best position, but he looked hungry to get back into the action.

Saganowki - 5 (on for Bradley Wright-Phillips 83): - Harsh, but he really didn't have enough time to do anything, especially as in the last five minutes Coventry had the vast majority of possession and we couldn't get out. The odd touch he did have got away from him.

Match Officials

Normally we wouldn't rate the match officials, but the decision-making deserves its own special section!

Mr N Swarbrick (Ref) - 4: In a word, shocking.

Mr O Langford (chequered flag linesman) 3: In a word, abysmal

Mr R Merchant (other linesman) 6:
Provisonal rating pending replays of Stern's offside goal. Prepare to dock points later!

Mr W Barratt (forth official) 8: Official of the match. Text book stuff, holding his board high for all to see!
