Starting line-up

Kelvin Davis - 6: He had very little to do today. He blocked Hume's early effort and came out to clear well on a couple of occasions, but did flap at a cross and his distribution wasn't the best at times. Didn't stand much of a chance with the goal.

Phillip Ifil - 7:
Looked good again, assured in defence despite giving away one or two silly fouls. He was always looking to get forward and supported the attack well both putting in crosses and looking to play balls into the channel.

Andrew Davies - 8:
A very solid performance today, he dealt with Carl Cort comfortably despite his physical presence. Worked well with Bennett, always communicating and in control.

Alan Bennett - 8:
A great performance. Looks a shadow of the player from the games against Palace and Peterborough at the start of the season. Worked well with Davies and did everything right today and would have had the fans in raptures had his acute volley gone in.

Jermaine Wright - 6:
Did what was asked of him today, filling in well at left back. He played a couple of poor balls, but overall he had a decent game.

Youseff Safri - 7:
Sat in front of the back four and provided good protection, he was always looking to break down oppostion attacks and collect the ball from defence to start us off on the front foot.

Jason Euell 8:
Proved me wrong today! I have doubted his position as a central midfielder but today he was worked very hard for the team closing down all over the field. A really good gritty performance.

Andrew Surman 8:
A player who from today's performance seems to be recapturing some of his early season form. He really wanted this victory today and battled away in midfield all game. Put away his penalty with minimal fuss like an experienced pro, ice cool!

Nathan Dyer 8:
He was always a threat and was looking increasingly lively before he was injured. As Leicester pushed foward he was always an outlet on the break and his pace was frightening. Did well to head Safri's cross back across goal to put it on plate for Stern.

Bradley Wright-Phillips - 7:
Not one of his greatest games but dug in and fought well, one run in particular was pleasing. Showed a very good touch throughout the game and some neat passing.

Stern John - 8:
A very good lone striker's performance. Stern was always a target for balls forward, did well to hold up play and lay balls off to the wings and took his goal very well. Had a goal ruled out for offside, the flag was up quickly, but it would be interesting to see the replays. Described by the chap behind we as 'a tank'!

Subs

Adam Hammill (on for Dyer '86) - 6:
Didn't have a lot of time to show what he could do, but did well in the closing stages to switch play a few times to ensure possession was maintained.
